Using hierarchy and grids to bring stories to life, share data, and build community.
Designing for print requires a plan, attention to detail, and a firm understanding of project management. Becky excels at designing complex printed pieces using hierarchy, an underlying grid, and custom illustrations to ensure information and emotion is clearly communicated.
5-Year Strategic Plan
The Kennedy Catholic High School strategic plan was an important printed document that required detailed use of hierarchy to clearly convey dense information to a variety of stakeholders.
Becky first decided how best to categorize the content, then created sketches for each spread. Lastly, she designed the project in Indesign with special attention to small details, custom illustrations, and impactful photography to share strategic information as well as highlight the passion for the community and the future. Annual Report
Annual reports are essential for organizations, and designing a clear and concise report requires attention to detail.
First, Becky gathers financial information and designs graphs in Illustrator. Then she collects written content and photos to bring everything together in Indesign. The annual reports also include a list of hundreds of donors, requiring categorization by both donation amounts and fund categories.
Admissions Brochure
This admissions brochure was designed to share more about the academic program at Kennedy Catholic High School. Becky was given content and sections the department wanted to highlight, and created an icon system to match the theme and visually guide readers through the brochure. This project also required strategic use of hierarchy in order to clearly communicate dense information.

Lancer for Life Magazine
This 50+ page magazine is published yearly and mailed to over 10,000 constituents. Becky designed this magazine from scratch for three years. Below are some of her favorite spreads. This project showcases attention to detail and intense knowledge of Indesign, Illustrator, and design principles. It required comprehensive project management - working with almost all departments gathering information, working through edits, and receiving final approval for every spread.
